Flex Alert Network
What is the Flex Alert Network?
The Flex Alert Network is comprised of California businesses, governments, associations and organizations who have agreed to send out Flex Alert notifications when the CA Independent Systems Operator determines we need to conserve electricity immediately.
Can your organization distribute Flex Alert notifications to its employees?
When a Flex Alert is called, Flex Alert Network partners agree to send a notification email out to their employees that includes breaking news and peak conservation tips.
Sign-up to receive Flex Alert notifications via email and on your mobile phone.
When a Flex Alert is called we'll notify you via email or text message so you can take action to conserve energy when California needs it most.
How Does it Work?
When a Flex Alert is called, network partners are committed to getting the word out immediately by sending communications to all their members, constituents, and/or employees. Notifications are usually sent 24-hours in advance of a Flex Alert day.
For those unable to send out alerts, you may also place the Power Plug web widget on the main page of your website. This widget displays the headlines from e-Newswire and switches automatically to Flex Alert messaging when called.
Flex Your Power will supply information from the California ISO, as well as specific tips on how to draw down your power use.
Flex Alert and Energy Headlines - Web Widget
Spread the alert with a web widget that automatically updates when Flex Alert notifications are called. During non-alert periods, the web widget displays up-to-date energy news, strategies, and rebates. Get more information and sign-up.
